The primary functions of the liver are:
Bile production and excretion.
Excretion of bilirubin, cholesterol, hormones, and drugs.
Metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.
Enzyme activation.
Storage of glycogen, vitamins, and minerals.
Synthesis of plasma proteins, such as albumin, and clotting factors.
