Angioplasty: Medical 3D animation video. I was approached by client to create a detailed medical animation video to show the process of angioplasty and their product 3V Siris (stent) for internal training purpose. All aspect of project from pre-visualization, reference gathering, storyboarding to final render was delivered by us in 4 weeks.
Houdini was primarily used for modelling and animation while mantra for render. Nuke was used for compositing and CC.

Shane Shapiro, M.D., orthopedic physician at Mayo Clinic in Florida, performs a bone marrow aspiration and concentration for BMAC/stem cell injection into arthritic knees. This procedure is part of a Mayo Clinic IRB approved, FDA monitored clinical research trial which can be searched on at http://ClinicalTrials.gov.

Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Center for Regenerative Biotherapeutics is studying biologically based non-surgical treatments for osteoarthritis. One such treatment is the harvesting of the patient's own stem cells from their bone marrow.

"In our procedure we draw cellular rich bone marrow from both sides of the pelvis. We then filter the resulting product and concentrate the stem cells and their corresponding growth factors. Using an ultrasound to image the knee joint, we are then able to precisely inject the cells into the arthritic knee. We are currently demonstrating that this procedure is safe and can relieve pain. We also hope to be able to slow the progression of the degenerative joint disease and perhaps one day regrow cartilage in the arthritic joint."

Gastric bypass, also called Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, is considered a “metabolic” procedure because it changes how your body absorbs fat, calories and nutrients. This metabolic change occurs because your gastrointestinal tract is altered when your gastric bypass surgeon attaches the smaller section of your stomach directly to your small intestine. As a result, your appetite changes and you feel full faster.

Cholecystectomy means removal of the gallbladder. The most common reasons
your doctor might recommend a cholecystectomy are biliary colic, cholecystitis,
choledocolithiasis, or gallstone pancreatitis. Biliary colic, also known as symptomatic
cholelithiasis, is caused by gallstones, which are hardened deposits of bile. Gallstones are
common in the general population, and gallstones alone are not a reason for gallbladder
removal if they do not cause symptoms. However, sometimes gallstones can get caught at the
neck of the gallbladder, causing pain when the gallbladder contracts against them trying to
release its bile, especially after a fatty meal. With biliary colic, the pain typically resolves within
an hour or so. Occasionally, a stone or some other blockage may prevent the gallbladder from
emptying over a long period of time, causing an increase in pressure and trapped fluid within the
gallbladder. This can cause inflammation and infection of the gallbladder, which we call
cholecystitis. Choledocholithiasis is when there are one or more stones in the bile ducts, which
can cause back up of bile into the liver, and depending on the location of the stones, could
cause pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas. Other reasons for gallbladder
removal, though less common, are gallbladder polyps and cancer. All of these are reasons for
gallbladder removal.

Dimples creation Surgery/ Dimpleplasty is a type of plastic surgery used to create dimples on the cheeks. Dimples are the indentations that occur when some people smile. They’re most often located on the bottoms of the cheeks. Not everyone is born with this facial trait. In some people, dimples are naturally occurring due to defect in smiling muscle. Dimples are perceived as a sign of beauty.

How dimples are formed?
Dimples are formed because of the defect in the smiling muscle called Zygomaticus Major. A very small part of this muscle is attached to the skin. So whenever a person smiles the skin lying over this defect gets wedged into it, in the connective tissue, creating dimples.
Dimple creation is a simple procedure of fewer than 20 minutes. Before undergoing the surgery the patient consults the doctors and decides the size and location of the dimple they want.

The procedure of Dimple Creation
1.Before the surgery the doctors mark the position of the dimple based on patients on where the patient wants the dimple. The doctor also guides the patient regarding the position of dimples.
2.This surgery is performed under local anaesthesia.
3.Doctors perform this surgery from inside the mouth (inside of the cheek) in order to ensure there are no scars on the face. A small cut of 3-4mm is made inside the cheek area.
4.After making this incision, depending on where you want the dimple, a suture is passed through. This connects your skin to the underlying muscle, creating the dimple. You can see the dimple immediately.
